Res Ipsa Loquitur Mug – Clever Law Student Gift

Res ipsa loquitur is Latin for “the thing speaks for itself”. It is one of the first maxims law students learn in negligence, usually alongside the story of a barrel of flour that fell from a warehouse window in 1863 and landed on a passer-by.

The idea is simple: some accidents are so obviously the result of carelessness that the facts do all the talking. This mug borrows the phrase and points it at itself.
