Alarm Clock Also Retired Mug – Cute Retirement Present

$22.00

After decades of 6am starts, the alarm clock has been stood down as well. A cute retirement present for someone about to rediscover the sleep-in.

Save for later ♡

Nobody is happier about a retirement than the alarm clock. It has been getting yelled at every weekday morning for forty years.

Now it gets a nightcap, a doona and the day off, permanently. A cute retirement present with a joke everybody understands.

A Cute Retirement Present for Sleep-In Fans

The design is drawn in a sweet kawaii style with clean navy outlines. A round yellow alarm clock with a blissful sleeping face is tucked into a little orange bed, wearing a striped nightcap, under a navy blanket scattered with stars.

A trail of Zs floats up from its head, with “ALARM CLOCK:” above and “ALSO RETIRED” below in rounded navy letters.

Sweet, Not Sarcastic

Because it’s gentle and a little bit adorable, it’s a safe pick when you don’t know their sense of humour well. It suits nans, mums and that lovely lady from accounts just as much as the bloke who was always first in.

It’s an 11oz mug, so about 325mL for the first cuppa of a very late morning.

A Retirement Present That Suits Almost Anyone

Some retirement presents only work if you know the person well. This one doesn’t need inside knowledge. Everybody has had an alarm clock, and everybody has wanted to throw it out the window.

So it is a reliable retirement present for the colleague you like but don’t know closely, the neighbour who is finishing up, or a relative you see twice a year.

Retirement Gifts for Early Starters

It lands especially well with people whose jobs began before sunrise: nurses, bakers, posties, tradies, cleaners and school bus drivers. For them, the real retirement gift is never setting the alarm again, and this is the mug that celebrates it.

Delivery and care

Do you deliver across Australia?

Yes, to every state and territory by Australia Post, and shipping is free when you order 2 or more items. We only ship within Australia.

How is the design printed, and will it last?

Every mug is hand-printed in Australia using sublimation printing on an 11oz ceramic mug. We like to be upfront: like every sublimation print, the colours will gradually soften with use and washing. It is made for everyday drinking, and a favourite mug that has worn in a little is part of its charm.

How do I look after it?

The sublimation print is dishwasher safe, so you can load it up with the rest of the kitchen. To keep the colours looking fresh for longer, a hand wash with a soft sponge is kinder than a scourer.
