A Books and Coffee Mug With a Mid-Century Twist

The design is a neat stack of four hardback books lying on their sides, drawn in a flat, 1960s style. Each spine carries one word: COFFEE, BOOKS, BED and REPEAT.

The spines come in deep navy, mustard yellow, burnt orange and dark teal, each with simple decorative bands. Balanced on top is a little navy coffee cup with three wisps of steam.

Made for the First Step

Step one is coffee, so the mug needed to be up to the job. It holds 11oz, which works out to about 325mL, enough to get through a couple of chapters before a refill.

Every mug is hand-printed in Australia using sublimation printing on an 11oz ceramic mug. We like to be upfront: like every sublimation print, the colours will gradually soften with use and washing. It is made for everyday drinking, and a favourite mug that has worn in a little is part of its charm.

How do I look after it?

The sublimation print is dishwasher safe, so you can load it up with the rest of the kitchen. To keep the colours looking fresh for longer, a hand wash with a soft sponge is kinder than a scourer.
