Koalas sleep up to 20 hours a day. This one spends the other four with a good book. A vintage-style koala book mug for readers who are fully qualified, or should we say koala-fied.

Save for later ♡

Some readers like a comfy armchair. This one prefers the fork of a gum tree, a bit of shade and absolutely no interruptions.

The Koala-fied Reader mug gives book lovers an Aussie twist on the classic bookworm.

A Vintage Koala Book Mug

The design looks like a page from an old Australian children’s book. A koala in small round spectacles sits in the fork of a eucalyptus tree, completely absorbed in a little brown book.

Gum leaves and gumnuts frame the branches, drawn with fine crosshatching in muted greens, warm greys and ochre. “KOALA-FIED READER” sits underneath in an elegant vintage serif.

A Very Australian Reading Break

Settle in with this mug and an 11oz brew (that’s about 325mL) and you’re set for a long, lazy read. Gum tree optional.

It’s a lovely souvenir-style gift too, for readers who love our native animals as much as their books.

Delivery and care

Do you deliver across Australia?

Yes, to every state and territory by Australia Post, and shipping is free when you order 2 or more items. We only ship within Australia.

How is the design printed, and will it last?

Every mug is hand-printed in Australia using sublimation printing on an 11oz ceramic mug. We like to be upfront: like every sublimation print, the colours will gradually soften with use and washing. It is made for everyday drinking, and a favourite mug that has worn in a little is part of its charm.

How do I look after it?

The sublimation print is dishwasher safe, so you can load it up with the rest of the kitchen. To keep the colours looking fresh for longer, a hand wash with a soft sponge is kinder than a scourer.
