Some books are just too good to give back on time. This librarian mug is for the borrowers who keep them a little longer, and for the librarians who have seen it all.

Save for later ♡

Remember the little card in the back of library books, with its column of stamped dates? Remember the slight panic when you realised you’d missed one?

The Overdue & Proud mug turns that guilty feeling into a badge of honour.

A Librarian Mug With a Vintage Library Card

The design is a realistic flat-lay of an old cream library card, slightly worn at the edges, with “DATE DUE” across the top and ruled lines below.

Old blue-ink date stamps are scattered down the card, and a library pocket peeks out behind it. Right across the middle is a big, crooked red rubber stamp that proudly declares “OVERDUE & PROUD”.

For Both Sides of the Library Desk

Librarians will love the nostalgia (and the cheek). Late returners will love finally having an excuse. Either way, it holds 11oz, about 325mL, of coffee for a long shift or a long read.

Fair warning: it may encourage keeping books a little longer.

Delivery and care

Do you deliver across Australia?

Yes, to every state and territory by Australia Post, and shipping is free when you order 2 or more items. We only ship within Australia.

How is the design printed, and will it last?

Every mug is hand-printed in Australia using sublimation printing on an 11oz ceramic mug. We like to be upfront: like every sublimation print, the colours will gradually soften with use and washing. It is made for everyday drinking, and a favourite mug that has worn in a little is part of its charm.

How do I look after it?

The sublimation print is dishwasher safe, so you can load it up with the rest of the kitchen. To keep the colours looking fresh for longer, a hand wash with a soft sponge is kinder than a scourer.
